The 600-seat theatre’s design originated from visits and research undertaken by the school and design team to benchmark facilities like the Royal Opera at the Palace of Versailles and Estates Theatre in Prague.

Writers' Theatre

The intimacy found in 250-seat Nichols Theater is created in part by the back screen made of brick salvaged from the original building, transforming as it rises to an open, variegated sculpture. The screen speaks softly back to the actors, creating acoustic intimacy for performers and audiences.

Brown University’s Performing Arts Center provides room for all three within a small footprint by moving the walls and ceiling to fit the performances’ needs. Varying the intimacy and absorption of the room itself keeps the audience close to the action, no matter the situation.

Wheaton Concert Hall

What was once a building with lecture halls for the Science department is now home to this new 650-seat concert hall. Also located in this building is the college’s first dedicated rehearsal room for their choral program.
